It's the Wood that Makes it Good

As I've said before, right now I'm working in a cabinet shop. Most of what I do is apply the finishes to the cabinets (paint, stain, etc). In a previous post I recommended natural cherry as my wood and finish of choice, but now I'd like to change that.

If you're in the market for a new kitchen - - I say check out Hickory with a natural finish. Very nice - almost exotic looking.

I wish . . . most of the scraps aren't big enough to make much of anything with. But I have dreamed up some custom designs - maybe one of these days I'll buy a couple hunks of tonewood and craft away.
